Flying Fingers” is an amazing instrumental guitar album, composed
and performed by the No.1 Chinese Axeman Powell Young. He
was born in Nov.1, 1965 in a small town in the northern China.
He has studied music since his childhood, and at present Powell
is teaching Er-Hu and oriental traditional percussion in the
Beijing Chinese Opera college, where he also developed his
own guitar skills and found a way to mix Chinese traditional
music with Shred, fusion and Metal. As a guitarist Powell
is influenced by virtuosos such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai,
Gary Moore, Frank Gambale, Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe, Ritchie
Kotzen, Jason Becker…etc. In Oct.10, 2002, Powell opened for
Satriani and jammed with Joe at his Taipei live concert and
showed his incredible guitar technique in front of 2,000 guitar
fans. Powell Young is the first Chinese guitarist to become
offered an endorsement deal with Musicman guitars.
