ROB MOORE’S GUITAR DESTRUCTION
Mixed, Mastered and co-produced by Lars Eric Mattsson
ROB MOORE Biography:
In 2019, I was accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. where I studied guitar performance under one of my biggest heroes and influences, Joe Stump. During the 2020 pandemic, I was able to spend the entire day with my instrument and began writing music for the first time and practicing over 80 hours a week.Thankfully, I now work at Berklee and still continue tutelage under Joe.
I've been playing guitar for 16 years, 17 this November 3rd! I started taking an interest in music around the age of 8 years old after hearing Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath and Beyond the Realms of Death by Judas Priest. I was introduced to hard rock and heavy metal by my father who had a pretty sizable record/cassette/cd collection. At the age of 9, I was quite obsessed with Judas Priest and Black Sabbath and then my father put on Marching Out by Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force and my life changed forever. It was like nothing I'd ever heard before. I was completely hooked and have been into neoclassical metal and shred guitar ever since. I had begged my mother to take me to guitar lessons since the age of 9 but she did not and thought it was a phase until I eventually was taken to lessons around 11 for drums. Not sure how that happened but I quickly dropped the interest in that and went to guitar, taking lessons from my neighbor across the street who further introduced me to different styles of guitar playing. I began taking classical guitar lessons and eventually got an electric guitar from a co-worker of my father's and began playing rock/metal guitar, learning AC/DC and Scorpions songs. So, I like to say my guitar teachers were Fred (my initial teacher), Malcolm Young, and Rudolf Schenker, Tony Iommi, Jimmy Page, and Jimi Hendrix.
I currently play guitar in 2 bands, one of which is The Ben Cote Band (BCB) and we are a hard rock outfit based out of Boston, MA.. BCB has 4 records out and counting! We play a lot regionally throughout the New England area of the United States! I just joined this band in July 2023 and we were to open for 80s metal band Slaughter at an outdoor gig but there was a terrible storm, so all we got was a soundcheck, so I like to joke and say we soundchecked for Slaughter haha. The next night, we played side stage at the Party Gras '23 in Gilford, New Hampshire where Jefferson Starship, Night Ranger, and Bret Micheals played.
The second band I play in is the Hirsh Gardner Project (HGP), a hard rock/AOR band based out of Boston/New Hampshire. HGP has released 2 albums and is about to release a 3rd. Hirsh Gardner is the drummer for 1970s/1980s band New England, who had a top 40 hit "Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya" in 1979 and toured in support of Kiss, Journey, Cheap Trick, Styx and others. With HGP we also play regionally and have played the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA in 2023. I just joined this band around the same time as Ben Cote Band, July 2023.
With both of these bands, I hope to write and record and appear on future outputs.
I'm currently debating, and talking to fellow Massachusetts musicians, on putting together a Black Sabbath tribute band focusing on the 80s-90s eras of the bands. I'm also never allowing myself to rest and already working on writing more music for a second neoclassical metal solo output and I'm also wanting to record an album of instrumental and shredded out versions of 80s pop music.
